New old Canuck in Kiwiland (rykyz450)

Just joined. Just moved to Kaitaia area from San Francisco, but originally from Victoria BC. Had to leave my 07 Ducati S4RS Monster back in US, but just bought myself an 08 YZ450f for playing in the dirt. In-laws have a gazillion hectares of dairy farm near Kaitaia, and I am close to Ahipara and the beach/dunes.

Just getting back into dirt riding- last dirt bike was a 348 Montessa back in the '80's. The YZ is a handful, but in a good way... Have ordered a heavy flywheel and 52 tooth rear sprocket to make it easier on trails.

Looking for info on any trails to ride in Far North, as well as any potential mates to ride with - so long as you don't mind waiting for an old fart to catch up :-)!

    Rick

You moved from SF to Kaitaia-that would be a culture shock.

Heya Welcome to NZ I've never riden up at Ahipara but heard fantastic things about it, if your on dirty old FB look up Prime trail rides, they have 2 - 3 rides a year not far from Morewa, I went to one in the wet and it was bloody fantastic fun, they've just had another last weekend, but we could not make it and I'm still a little bit sour about it, would love to see what its like in the dry.
Kaitaia is a beautiful place, if your not born there with no money.
