Oh chit! Sounds like you've been through a nightmare with that thang! Hopefully she's a minter, it states that it runs good and doesn't smoke upon start up.. But i wouldn't take their word for it

Yeah, make sure the bike has some gas. Or else it won't start!

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Many new riders log in to Kiwi Biker just to get advice on purchasing a first bike and never sign in again.

You'll find that most of them do buy the bike they wanted anyway, they only ask on the forums because they want some affirmation*.

    Esp' Honda boys..

Wonder if that thing's had its tits revved off - 'til the valves bent?

He might want to do a comp check - before he hands over the cash..

My sister had a MC22. It was an awesome bike with heaps of power (for a 45 hp lams bike). It looked tidy although it had ben dropped a few times in its life. Had well into 90,000 kms but ran as good if not better than my FZR. Never smoked sounded and ran brilliant. Someone had put on an ebay exhaust. And didn't upjet the carbs. Was a bit of fun trying to get it going cold. Once warm it was a rocket. Was a good $2500 bike. All we did in a year was change brakes and replace a chain and an oil change.

My bike was a different story. I Ran it out of gas. Cleaned carbs and it ran like crap for a while until I got the carbs synced. It was dropped it came with rather cracked fairings not on the bike. Fixed it up since new paint etc. I had to replace the swingarm bearing. My bike was cheap $1200, I knew it needed some wrench time didn't bother me. Then again, Ive ridden 40,000 kms on my bike, been through tyres, had carbs off 4 times, done oil and filters, valve clearance check (I didn't do that, my good friends did thank you guys!).

Easy to say mines a heap. But I have ridden 40,000 kms, my bike is approaching 70,000 ks. I'd expect to do all this stuff with the CBR. They are good fun bikes. Need their share of maintenance which is expensive unless you dont mind diy or have good mates.
Skulls N Flames. Bye bye FZR may you have many more miles with your new owner. 600cc time soon!
