So far David Emmett has written that the first contract for 2018 has been signed. Information to follow on who and where. On the basis of his performance yesterday it won't be Jorge to Ducati. Jorge to Aprilia would be a possibility though.

Silly season starts earlier and earlier.

HAve been a Dovi fan since he and Lorenzo were racing each other on 250s.I dont think he is the absolute fastest rider, but his re invention of himself gives him more confidence.Cant help but think that the limitations of the tyres played into his hands a wee bit,and the horsepower of the Duc allowed hinm to take it a wee bit easier in the corners than MM.Easier said than done though .He so nearly had a chance when MM so nearly biffed it.He would never have ad the pace to battle with Zarco and Dani though.
Surprise of the weekend must be Rins

That photo is interesting and not just because of what is in the picture which is remarkable enough. The photographer is one of those with Dorna accreditation, he makes his living covering GPs and ice speedway.

As is apparently the normal practice he sent the photo to publications and websites on a "you use it, you pay for it" basis. One such didn't follow the usual practice and made the photo available and it was all over the 'Net in a flash. It's an amazing pic but the photographer is missing out on a lot of money. One of the English pundits used it unwittingly and then found out the situation so sent the guy the cash. I was going to post it here but having read the story, the guilt factor was too high.

The offending party should be named and shamed but I guess the pro photographers will be crossing them off their list in the meantime - unless they pay up front?

They are still discussing MM's miracle recovery. A 50m loss of the front end - and the black mark is stil lon the track. One theory is that he braked later to avoid being overtaken by Zarco. The Frenchman has them worried.

Julian Ryder is retiring - sort of. https://www.superbikeplanet.com/ryder-notes-end-season/
