Wouldn't like to be the railfreight guy who is presumably now ringing the consigners of the containers stuck on the marooned train.....
From what you could see on TV, it's not in an easy position to crane anything off.

Really? Polite disagreement & you perceive it as lashing out? Well we can hardly take your version of things very seriously in future can we?
It was the Chinese that got called out, I simply disagreed with your post, that's what the rep system is for isint it? Nothing abusive, just don't agree. Pot, kettle, both of you are red rep kings.

Dear Valued customer, due to recent seismic events some freight items have been delayed in transit between depots.

If your unsure where your freight is so are we, please ring our 0800 number and leave your detaiuls.

If the shit was valuable enough someone like Mammoet or Svitzer could prob park a barge in close and crane them out, cost megabucks tho....

The old Rapaki floating crane which the Lyttelton harbour Board sold North - not sure whether she's in Wgtn or Auckland - was used post WW2 in the islands to recover a lot of stuff. Shallow draft too. Probably have to dig an approach channel and the whole thing would be weather dependant with no real shelter on that coast.
Could be done with what we have here in NZ. If they change the route of the rail line it might be the only way to recover the loco and rolling stock...

The most pleasing aspect which follows such a traumatic and horrific event like this and the Christchurch earthquake, is the generosity shown from Kiwi's all over NZ to those directly affected. It doesn't matter who you are/where you come from/what you have/what you don't have, in a situation like this - a large percentage of the country helps those in need however they can - just like as Pike River and Christchurch.

There was a Motorcycle fund raiser in 2011 for CH-CH and there was also one for Pike river months earlier from some South Island bikers.

Those discussing racial bullshit on this thread? Fuckwits - get over yourselves - and red repping each other? laughable to the extreme, you people are not worth a pinch of shit.
'' i'd let you touch me.''

Sorry fulla but I am spoken for.

Proper motorcycle forums don't have it but your probably banned from those
I never use the red one as its like " I'm going tell Mummy"
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
