    sneakers! and shit

so, im sure some of you wear shoes. while I avoid it, I sometimes have to.
I fucking hate shopping, and time spent in a shoe store makes me want to shit.
so basically looking for brand/style recommendations.
requirements are: last more than 6 months; fit wide feet; good rubber sole (think rock-climbing type grip). probably sub-200$. dont mind steel cap or non-.

...Keen...they are for wide feet and although the shoe type I wear for everything...work, walk, tramping, shooting, fishing etc, have a moulded rubber toe that eventually detaches after a hammering, the last pair is well into a year old...they are about the only footwear that I can wear...

Footware is generally made by joozs and corporations and will require you to use gewgold vouchers,so really need to make your own.

but if you must buy into the system, think these would suit you.

I now have 3 pairs of these....they shuffle down the food chain from presentable, to garage, to getting dirty in the garden.

They fit my wideish feet pretty well

I also hate shopping for shoes, hence when I find something that works I just keep replacing them with the same thing.

If it's shoes yer after have a look at last rite footwear, local and made to measure. Resoleable, never need to buy another pair of shoes. You can also get a "commando" sole which will help you save on underpants.

+1 on Keen - many styles to choose from and you can do it all on the internets...

Mine had sole delamination last year whilst in Rome... brought them home and had local cobbler reglue with super duper really extra strong glue... they'll do for a while longer...

Haha, he never said he was going to pay for them

Probably not a good idea to advertise what shoes you own in this thread, they could go missing

I have 2 pairs of Adidas trainers at any given point in time. Between them they can last me 3 - 4 years. My near 4yr old pair are Adidas Kanadia TR 5's. Bit tattered around the heal inside, but outside they're in damned fine nick despite being used for everything from gardening to 5-a-side. Pair 2 are nearly 2 years old and are still almost shop condition, especially the tread. They're Adidas Response Trail 21 gtx. I've tried a few brands over the years and find I get 2 years tops, usually less, out of any other brand than Adidas. Paid about $100 for the first pair and $130 for the second pair from the sales in rebelsport.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
