Very tasty, but the description "for up and coming racers" and the price of $25K AUD don't suggest a huge market...![]()

125GP (who slot in with F3 every now and again). The four-stroke 250cc production racers are also known in modern parlance as Moto3.
Edit: Just looked up the MNZ rules and the correct name of the class would be GP 125 / 250 Mono.

Reasonablish priced. I'm not sure how much the 125's were brand new. I like the idea you can buy the engine serperately.
If you think thats expensive, shoulda inqurired how much a new Aprilla RSW/A125 was!
As I had figured given the initial price in the US that was announced, about $35k+ landed in NZ.
That is for the standard bike, it comes (so I am reliably informed) with no spares.
The race kit will be the same price again.
The NSF250 is rated at about 48 hp and 83kg. A large number of the parts are RS125 NX4 parts and some have just been re-numbered NX7 (the model designation).
Bare in mind, that just like the 2-stroke bikes, the bikes we see at World champs will be only similar to the base bike, the rules not withstanding.
The comparison to the RS125 in standard trim is about 38-40hp depending on if you got a good one, 70-75kg at around $20k landed, when they were available. Any race kit stuff was suitably highly priced.
The KTM GPR250 is about 50hp and 84kg and the NZ list price (so I am told by two KTM dealers) is approximately $92k, but no racekit needed. Not sure what spares that would include.
The GP-Tech Moto3 bike from the US uses Yamaha YZF or WR250 engines, so will be around 40hp and they are quoting "under 200lb" which is 90kg (no numbers on how much "under"), at about $25k-ish landed here.
The Moriwaki MD250H is about 40-42hp, about 80kg and about $25k landed here.
The IMD250? We are hoping to be around 40-42hp, around 78kg and around $20-22k. If we can source the new '13 250SXF (I have a cunning plan) then I am reliably informed it will be 47+hp.

Steve, what about spares back up asap that the racers may need, will you have them on stock, as the prices you have suggested for all bikes in this thread are very similar, and the spare parts are only a week away for them via a courier for a proven proffessional race motorbike builders parts supply dept.
I really think you are not going to capture much market place sorry mate, especially here in new Zealand, best of luck
I personally would buy the Honda any day, having said that, bloody good on you all for putting in the effort with this machine, it looks the part and only time will tell the truth in it

Thanks for the endorsement, ummm I don't think.
I would like to see someone from NZ buy NSF250 parts today.
I am sure that the local HRC dealers won't have any parts and the biggest HRC dealer in the USA has only stands and bits and pieces listed.
So getting parts for the NSF is tough right now, except for the fact that cycle parts are largely RS125.
We will have the same back up as any manufacturer with similar lead times.
