Yamaha actually offered a camper set for some of the TX twins in the 70's.

Probably the ultimate accessory for concours now as i think they sold SFA.

I was shocked mate. They must be supplying 10 ply toilet paper or something or a hooker and blow addiction that needs decent funding.

$6 a night per person at a bunch of DOC sites not too far away that have a decent view though.
And guess what the caretakers say there....the biggest fuckwits and people they get the most trouble from are New Zealanders! Don't believe me go ask some of them. The sun doesn't shine out of our asses any more than foreign visitors.

That would be the Sequoia backpackers I think (up for sale at the moment I think out of interest).

Yep that's the one,you should buy it Taz and put the prices up,easily run,the woofer residents do all the work-Sequoia is a seriously good BP,prolly the best of the 20 odd I stayed in during the trip.

haha that's actually a possible plan for the future but probably in Sri Lanka before it gets popular and spendy. Even with WOFers it's hard work though unless you have a massive place that is always packed. Picton is spoilt for backpackers tbh. The Jugglers Rest is also up for sale and one of the best in NZ, The Tombstone is also very good and then down the road there is the Hopewell Lodge (where we're off to for a few days next week) which is I think still the top rated BBH one in the country and around a fawking awesome road for motorcycles.
I'm actually surprised I haven't the Hopewelll mentioned more as a good spot to go to on here more considering the amount of ferry crossings the KB community does.

    Camping in UK

Have to agree with most, Camp grounds in NZ are charging pretty high prices these days just for a patch to put up a tent.
Went over to the UK and IOM TT last year and took a tent with us, we camped for a month and saved a fortune on our accommodation budget. We used the www.ukcampsites.com.uk a great system they have to find a Campsite close to where you happen to be for the night, it will give you lots of choices. There are Lots of basic Farm type camps where the Farmer puts up a small simple ablution block with power, say a couple showers and toilets and charges 5 - 10 quid a night each. Don't see why it could not be done in NZ, class people as guests, no registered campground, and make a few dollars on the side. Might stop a lot of overseas campers leaving there rubbish around.

    Fucking spot on!
That's the way to do it.

I spent a month and a bit in the UK last year, and didn't have any hassles with freedom camping. Just respected whichever place I stopped in.
