No idea to be honest, when I did my small engine time we worked on them all the time. But that was a lot of years ago.

People would never change the blades, you would end up with the disk that held it cutting the grass. Made a mess when one of the blades was not done up correctly, plastic body and all.

Edit, well they do still exist. just electric only by the looks. http://www.flymo.com/nz/products/lawn-mowers/

Some of the robo mowers are supposed to be pretty good too. No cat/dog shit problem like the robo vacuums either!

Ah yes, the perils of mowing the lawn when you have a dog. We haven't had one for 10 years now but I still remember the thrill of mowing a turd that you missed in the pre-mow clean up ... the all encompassing smell of stale dog shit in the air and poo flakes swirling like fecal confetti.

I used to do just that. Had a steep bank with a path along the top. Just had to walk back and forth, playing rope out a little each time. It was an electric one.

I don't mind the mowers so much, around here its about the most noise you get,''Ride ons''. Infinately better than living close to neighbours as we did in Pram.
I had to adjust a neighbours attitude just before we moved,I don't miss that one little bit.(or the reformed little faggot).

And we have a new winner!

The guy who started his pneumatic drill (jack-hammer) at 8.02am this Saturday morning and is still going for it. Sounds like it's at least a block away from us but loud enough to rouse Mrs Oakie from her sleep and utter a very rude couple of words to describe what she thought of the guy.

Bet his immediate neighbours were impressed.
