    Motorcycle industry dream jobs

After coming back to NZ for a job I've decided I don't want to do anymore I'm in a good position of not having to work for a few months and taking a crack at finding work that I enjoy, while being able to travel around the country (preferably SI) to find it.

Sadly, for the 5 mins thought I've given it, I lack the imagination to think of anything other than sales or becoming a bike mechanic

So KB brain trust, is that a realistic assessment or are there some potential industry positions out there that you'd consider a 'dream job' that would be worth a nudge?

There is always the usual warning to consider when you turn your hobby into a job; you need to find a new hobby.

Vetting the models they use when shooting photos of motorcycles for magazines and the internet. Someone has to do it.

Someone probably has to carefully position them on or near the bike too. I could do that.

Funny you should mention that. A calendar on the wall of my local motorcycle emporium caught my eye yesterday. It showed a picture of a charming young woman with eye catching, bare, bosoms. They had a lovely, soft sheen to them. I wondered if that was professional lighting, photoshop or an actual job. Photographers bosom buffer and nipple tweaker.

Yes that's an interesting point. I just did a few months as a fleet manager of a couple of scooters and have to say I rather enjoyed it though. It was a good mix of people and machines, but I won't find something like that in NZ me thinks.

Yeah nah. Don't have the cash, contacts or passion to make a run at something like that. Plus I think you can have a better work/life balance being a rung or two down from the top dog/business owner

There is no shortage of skilled labour in most industries in NZ at moment so you really need to identify your core skills and run with that.
I've been down the self employed route and doing stuff i really like, its not the same when you are forcing it out as work.
Also switching industries you need to be REALLY good at what you do. I've moved sideways from truck driving with bit of loading ymself and unloading to more mostly just forklift driving now. Its a highly skilled competitive workplace and you have to work hard to prove yourself to colleagues.

More commonly known as a make up artist. Any top notch shoot will have a make up artist, stylist and hair dresser.
Funnily enough as the photgrapher you have so much technical stuff to worry about you dont get time to really appreciate the aldies beauty.
In some circumstance favourabvle lighting can be had from windows or reflections but usually off camera flash with various diffeser devices is used.
