Stopped smoking after 20 or so years on them almost 2 years ago and been vaping ever since.

Been through a number of different E-cigs and finally found one that really works well, the kangertech mini. It doesn't leak ( some brands do ) and is very well made and comes with various spare parts.

I highly recommend this one as you can make your own coils. Not only does this save you heaps on not having to buy pre-made coils, the ones you make actually work better and once you get it down they are easy to do. I paid about $20 for both the cotton and the wire and that lasted me a year.

Finding a good source of e-juice is a must. I've tried heaps of places and found that 'the mushroom cloud' have a really good range at very good prices ( compared to the rest ).

25mg is a pretty high amount, that's more nicotine than you would have got from the smokes! I started out at 18mg and found that too strong. Down to 6mg now on the sub-ohm set-up, but find 12mg is good on a non sub-ohm.

    Well done making the switch

Not really cold turkey is it? the definition of going cold turkey is to withdraw suddenly and completely from an addictive substance or some other form of dependency: “Many people who attempt to quit smoking do so by going cold turkey rather than by gradually cutting down.”

What you and stylo are doing is 'gradually cutting down'.

I had my last cigarette in 2010, stubbed it out half way through and never looked back. Some bars and clubs do not allow vaping because it has a nicotine content and still considered smoking.

    "Bro you vape? WHAT FLAYVOH???"

I hope someone gets the reference above.

On that note, seems to be more and more of the older generation cracking into them, originally I only saw hipsters with top knots sucking down on them in every city I went to.
In theory it's a good alternative as it gets rid of the shit and keeps the hands busy, having watched my father struggle to quit for many many years I'd love to see how he goes on one, will get him one I think.

I kicked it in last October after 40 years of Nicotine pleasure. I considered the Vape path but didn't want to look a bigger idiot than normal so went for the patches. A better idea I think as that gets me out of the 'Have a puff after a meal' mindset.

After 10 weeks I gave up the Nicotine Band-aid and have stayed on the path of righteousness since.

Well done to you whichever way you do it.

After spending a while in England last year, there is a huge amount of vaping happening there along with a, sadly, huge quantity of smokers.
Getting dropped back into last century of smoke clouds was an eye opener.

My cousin has smoked a pipe for the last 50yrs, but has taken up vaping and declares it a huge shift for his lifestyle. Good on him.
Oddly NZ seems slow on the uptake here.

interesting thread given that we are just going through the process of importing the vape pens, it is illegal to sell nicotine E-juice in lil ole nz but some do and it appears to be ignored but it is legal to import up to three months worth for personal use which is what we do and just got some sent from the states, ordered on 24/2 and arrived 28/2, pretty good service i would say, the maori party are pushing for vaping to be subsidised, fuck knows why because it is cheap anyway.

for those that don't know, it is not illegal to vape inside but if you are asked to stop then you must do so.

wife believed she would never be able to chuck the fags but started vaping on 1st aug and hasn't touched a cigarette since, not really cold turkey as such but a damned good start

Not illegal to sell e-juice as an item and add nicotine as a freebie after the fact ;-)

Im on an xcube mod with a eleaf melo 2 tank, being a tradie means I dont get the luxury of diy coils as I cant keep it upright. Been looking at rta's but again, upright aint a thing.

I've found vapo make some good flavours, good pricing too. Shosha is a ripoff, and blatantly sell nicotine juices, hell they even display em!!

I was wondering about the vaping thing, but reading the above it all sounds far too bloody complicated for my simple brain, so I think I'll just continue with the original plan of giving up the fags and call it done.
