I get my discount by shopping around. With the commute I have there are plenty of options that don't take me out of my way. At the moment I mostly tank at the Mobil* in East Tamaki. I think they were one of the first Mobils to get pay at pump.

*Won't go back to the Z after they told me off for sitting while filling. Actually, now that I think of it, I've never been back to any servo that did that.

Not sure if Mobil uses ethanol, and doesn't specify, so I avoid. Caltex has a habit of making 95 some 20c+ more expensive than their cheap 91... 91 I'd fill up quite a bit, but Z is cheaper for 95 in the BMW, well, a couple around East Tamaki and Highbrook.

They do for me with my Fonterra Employees benefits card but only 11 cents a litre. Get 20 cents off at Mobil.

I tank mostly wherever is cheapest. I haven't seen a noticeable difference in mileage between Z, Mobil or Gull (can't remember the last time I used BP or Caltex).

I stopped at the Caltex in Howick. 95 was 30c per litre more than 91!

The Mobil at Bulls used to have signs warning about ethanol but I don't know about the others so, like you, I avoid Mobil as far as possible.

Wherever possible I use Mobil because BP told me to get off to fill up and Shell/Z would not take my money while I had my helmet on.

Not blown the engine up yet, should I be worried?

Nah, ethanol doesn't affect red motorcycles.

No problem, just change your bike details to "A black one" and it'll be safe.

I think you are insulting 'scum' here.

To seal a bike, whilst cameras are on it, is pretty damn dumb.

The 3% ethanol that's in some fuel only has an adverse effect if the bike is older than the rider...or if you believe the earth is still flat

Perhaps. On one of the Triumph websites there were photos of plastic petrol tanks that had softened and lost their shape because of fuel containing ethanol. It is known to destroy some seals. I'll give it a miss if that's OK, it avoids the worry.

The US and some other countries have very high ethanol contents.
As far as i know the only High E fuels here are Gull which has a E10 and a E85.
