The US and some other countries have very high ethanol contents.
As far as i know the only High E fuels here are Gull which has a E10 and a E85.

California gasoline turns the inside of carbs marine green. You also have to be careful to re-route new ethanol approved fuel pipe. It sort of dissolves the original 60's rubber hose.

UPDATE:
Bike still not returned to owner; police now saying that despite the camera footage being there it's "not clear enough to make a positive ID" and that the woman driver who fessed up has done a runner. Apparently the thieves are well known to the cops so who knows what is going on.

That side, they hardened professionals as a rule will never confess ever. Also generally the police unless it’s a complete open and shut don't have the resources to press the matter further. The criminals know this and play the system.
