this thread has some great responses

you guys are pretty much unanimous (sp?) about he awesomeness of the Stebel Nautilus.

However, I googled the specs and that fucker is HUGE, and heavy, where the hell do you put it?
There seems to be some reports of premature failure on overseas reviews, as well as general unreliability, has anyone here encountered this?

so has anyone here got a PAIR of magnums? If they are mounted witth the trumpets pointing straight down what is the depth front to back (not side to side or up and down)I got a space but i can t figure out what the WxLxH on the magnum spec refers too.I assume that each magnum unit are identical?Or is there a difference between the size of the hightone/vs low tone?

Like a married man recommending marriage to other men.
Feels a little less stupid if everyone else makes the same mistake.

I was concerned about the reported unreliability but haven't experienced it. There was a guy on KB did several group buys, a lot of people bought them but I haven't seen any whinging.

They are not *that* big. If you've got a full fairing you may have to get creative but mine sits where the original horn was, maybe with a new bracket but...

If in doubt take it to an auto electrician.

You asked what was the best horn and now you know, now you are just fucking around.

Regarding reliability. My big one worked faultlessly for 8.5 years before I sold it with the bike.
The relays on the other hand...
One shorted out the first time I went full lock. Swapped where the unit was mounted with where the relay was mounted by the sparky...
A few years later I used it in anger and it went... but after a second or so in it stopped. Bypassing waterlogged relay got it working again.

My small ones have been fine except the kick only (no battery) DR won't run it at over 45kmph or when braking hard.
