    Who has the best horn?

I need a new horn for the gpz, what should i get?
I want a really loud one, electric if possible, not interested in chrome trumpets or anything like that.
One like the cop cars have would be cool.....?

Are they real Stebels? Look too cheap.

But yes - they are loud.

Don't buy a Ducati horn - pathetic - better pulling the clutch in and giving the engine a rev!

Yeah and the clutch rattle is louder than any horn the Italians make.

Thanks, some good, loud horns there. Only problem is fitting a bigger horn on the R1.

So are those stebels really that good? The ones i would want would be a direct replacement for the factory twin set up

I fitted a Denalli split soundbomb. Its pretty loud. Not sure if the Stebel is louder but its a lot more $$.
The split bomb was handy for me as the compressor and actual horn are separate, connected by a hose so if space is an issue you can usually work something out.
It came with a wiring kit including the relay. I just used the wires supplying the stock horn for the switched part, you need to run a heavy power feed direct from the battery.
    RG Racing do them.

Stebel are loud - I had the single one on my Honda Hornet http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...?id=1271871570

Did I mention it was LOUD. I'd mount it to my Ducati but I'm buggered if I have found a hidden spot for it - they are fairly large. Fine to tuck in behind a fairing, I had it stealth mounted behind the engine on the Honda - still LOUD.

I love my Stebel Nautilus. It makes the R3 sound like a train.

I had a set of twin FIAMM electric horns, very loud but still sounded like a motorbike.

The last five or six years I've had Stebel Nautilus, very loud and is not immediately recognisable as a motorcycle horn. One woman I gave an earful in town looked to see where the noise was coming from, saw the bike - and kept on looking.

If I was shopping for a horn again it'd be another Nautilus. Looking at those prices though I think I might get one for the car.

The Stebel Nautilus is loud, a two-tone blast. It has the compressor joined directly to the horn and so is a bit bulky but on my DRZ, I took the compressor off and mounted it under the seat and connected the horn with braided tubing. Not too hard. Also have one on the GS1200. I think they are great even though I have rarely used it in anger.

They need to be wired through a relay rather than just using the current horn wiring directly. Probably burn out the switch if directly wired.
