    1st bike need help

    hey guys, im pretty sure im getting an 08 drz400sm tomorrow {as long as the inspection report is allgood}
    so yeah get at me with your thoughts on these bikes..
    it has 38k on it is this high ?
    will i expect to have to do any mechanical shit to it as kms are high ??? keen on all advice

    All depends on the way it has been treated and maintained during those kms. They are not high.

    Presumably your inspection tomorrow will give you the info you need.

    Sounds like fun. There is lots of aftermarket support and information on how to make them go a bit better and more reliably. Reilablity is good and the supply of spares for a bike that has been around for a while is also very good. I've owned my SM for three weeks now and it's huge fun. I have had 2 DRZ's prior - all have been realy reliable and great fun to ride, one had 64000kms on the original motor and was still going really strong. I too am in CHCH

    Hey,
    you might want to ask about the "DRZ" mods. Larger air intake cut into the airbox and a subsiquent rejet of the carb. This modification is called the 3x3 mod. Also the removal of emssions (assuming the bike had it fitted from factory).
    This will probably give you a base point for the bike.
