need a hand with some alu work.. pls

just doing some upgrades to the bike, I need to fabricate a new plate and indicator bracket. I've got some aluminum (5mm fairly sturdy) to use, but I don't have any decent tools for cutting it, or shaping it. If I make up a cardboard template, could someone please give me a hand cutting and shaping/bending it sharp/neatly?

Can't be arsed doing that folding plate I was talking about. Don't have time for it at the moment. I will get round to it, just don't know when. This is a bit more simple, so I just want to get this done

    ta guys

cool, cheers. It's not going to be very big in itself (you've seen the back of the bike a few times), so you know what it's like at the moment. It's going to be pretty much the same thing, but just need some slight mods, and the current bracket doesn't help out. I just want some tight 90° bends in there, just to make it look nice and neat..

And I've found that the alu I thought I had, I don't. So if you can't help out for whatever reason, or something else goes, then I'll have to go scrounge some off cuts. Thanks again Alex.. let me know how it goes

you won't be bending 5mm ally into 90 degree tight radius bends any time soon. you'd be better off going to an extrusion place and getting some offcuts in the shape you need. there's plenty of .060 thou ally at my work, and that's hard enough to bend using the proper tooling. you'll have to either make it out of steel, stainless steel, or use ally extrusion. even if you can bend 5mm plate, it would more than likely still break on the bend, due to the stresses imparted on it when being bent.

Give it to old Tony, he's the only one i would trust to do good job at modern.

I'm working for TRT at the moment, a lot more toys here.

k, so who wants a go at helping me out here? kinda eager to get it done before the time runs out for the photos to be in for the calendar, plus i just want to get it done now.

Works out that I was dreaming - I don't have 5mm alu, and I'd be dreaming even harder if I thought I could bend it!! I've got alu that's a couple of mm at best, but no where near enough to use for this.

Just let me know any costs up front, and there's a 6pk in it too..

The bracket is simple (ain't it...??), and the dimensions are the min of what I need to get it working, which would be nice to get it as close as. Also just nice tight clean bends, and a nice material that isn't going to go crappy next week cos of the weather. DSS was going to have a go, but I think he's got a bit bogged down, so that's ok, I know how it goes mate

yeh i was about to say 5mmm alu that would be some interestinf bending skills. I got some plate and stuff all you need is a hacksaw and a file. Gonna be changing my arse end soon as well.
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...
