AGV or Caberg dealers in Christchurch?

Looking to buy my first helmet and have seen there are quite a few Caberg's and AGV's with 5 star Sharp rating in my price range. I can't seem to find any shops in Christchurch that sell either brand.

Has anybody any experience on where I might be able to find here to try on please?

    Thanks

Excellent, I should be able to get the sizing online and get them to send down a few helmets for me to try on!

    Thanks!

Try them on and "Test Ride" them ... before you buy them first. It won't matter how many stars they have in their rating ... if they don't fit your head properly.

Emoto in Christchurch was also a dealer who sold all range of Caberg helmets.

Not sure if they are still in business?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Yeah I plan to try them on and make sure they fit well!

Thanks for the Emoto suggestion, it looks like Ye still trade!

If you contact the importer, can't remember his name, you'll find he's extremely helpful.

Would you send somebody you don't know a few helmets to try on? That may be a tad optimistic.

Anyway you are doing it wrong, ignore brands at this point, check your local shops and buy a helmet that fits. Don't worry about the SHARP ratings they are just not *that* important.
It's not like you can do another 20kph around the next corner because your helmet has a five star SHARP rating.

I meant get them to send it to the shop for me to try on. No I wouldn't get somebody else to try them on for me, but I would use the free service they offer of sending down helmets for me to try on, why wouldn't I?

I would rather buy a 5* SHARP rated helmet rather than a 3* rated on if they both fit me well and similar price.

You'll get to try on what's in the shop only generally - unlikely they will order one to try on without a sale - NZ's system is they buy off the wholesaler and stock it ... tough if it does not sell.

As previous people have said - don;t get too brand hung up - do the bike shop rounds on a Sat morning or something and try on different ones.

I suspect that the OP has read the section on the Sharp helmet site about helmet fit being the most important aspect of helmet selection.

I can see his reasoning, if I can afford a helmet that has a 5-star rating and that helmet is the best possible fit then I might as well buy that helmet. If it doesn't fit then he 'll need to look further afield...

As for getting the helmet in, the Caberg importer provides a "on sale or return" policy - http://www.motorgear.co.nz/stockists

And I'm biased, very pleased with my Caberg Duke.

Crikey - that's like customer service in the industry!

Good to know. Print it out and take that page to the bike shop .....
