HMCC Rider Training - Taupo Racetrack - Sunday 27th November

Check the attachment for the details.

This is a day aimed at people who wouldn't normally go to a "trackday" as such, for the previous training days the people who have got the most enjoyment from it are those who are relatively new to motorcycling and those who have recently graduated to a bigger bike (250 -> 600, older 600 -> 1000+).

The price is $85 and includes a barbeque at lunchtime.

    THINGS NOT ON THE IMAGE:

Although it isn't for 'racers' the faster group has some seriously fast instructors that racers could possibly learn something from.

There are no racebikes allowed (exceptions may be granted for new racers or people who borrow a race bike to learn road-craft).

We will have one or two small capacity bikes for use on the gravel to allow riders to experience controlling wheel lock-ups at low speed.

If i can con him into it we will have a factory trained suzuki and yamaha mechanic to help with maintenance and adjustments.

There will be a designated area with air compressor and all tools necessary to check your bike to make sure it is performing correctly.

Suspension setup is one of the most important factors in safe riding and we aim to have EVERY tool to adjust suspension correctly for EVERY make of bike.

We aim to have more volunteers than any other ride day to make sure that if you want some help you can get it straight away, hopefully the ratio will work out at 3 riders for every volunteer.
I thought we had had no bins, but we actually had 2 on the first one, it was during the "emergency braking session" so we don't do that anymore

I'll edit this as I get more details, it's a pretty good day though.

    Bump!

This may also suit people such as myself with a spouse that want's to learn how to ride, although they want to be able to do 100+ on the straights.

It's more about the corners than the straights, the only problems that we've had in the past is when the groups were badly assigned, people who thought they were faster than they actually were went in the fast group (and i was passing them on my KR150) and some went into the slowest group just to feel good about passing GN250's doing 200+, on the day it will probably work out to 10-15 in the slowest group 25-30 in the medium group and 15-20 in the fast. BTW my KR had 150 top speed and I still managed to pillage the medium group, so I've been asked to help out rather than participate because I come across as a bit 'anti-social' when on a track :P
