Prison pretty much forever. No wanky home detention or paying a few thousand to the victim or soggy bus ticket slap.

That is a ridiculous sentence. There is no reason why anyone who commits any crime should be in jail that long.
This insistence on longer sentence being best is a load of rubbish.

Sentencing needs to be shorter to be effective.

For crimes like this, the sentence should be much less than a second - around the time it takes a bullet to travel through a skull and brain tissue would be about right.

Again far too quick. Pulp fiction rules. Some Homies with a blow torch and some pliers. With some patience.

Nobody is lower in the pecking order than sex offenders. These two are going to get beat up / sexually assaulted / shanked / whatever before the year is out.

In its own way it's even more effective than anything above... it could come from anyone, anywhere, anytime. They'll never know safety again.

I'd like to try trout fishing in the Deschutes River but if I get my fly fishing gear out again it'll likely be in the Waiwhakaiho which is closer. Lots closer.
