    Places to ride Waikato/BOP?

Can anyone suggest any good roads (preferably less trafficked than the main highways), somewhere between Hamilton and Tauranga? Preferably mid-way between, riders will be coming from both sides.
    Thanks!

The eastern and south eastern part of Lake Waikere, via Rutherfurd, Story and Taniwha roads.

Great place to meet is the Okoroire Pub.

From there you can cut across to Rotorua, and back below Rotorua tocome out below Tokoroa on SH1.

Or go across to Tokoroa, cut through the forest to Whakamaru and drop down the start of the western access to Te Hoi, come back up to Whakamaru and either head up the west of the Waikato River or turn east and ride along the Waikato to SH1.

The loop Okoroire/Ngongotaha/Tauranga via Pyes Pa RD/over the Kaimais back to Okoroire isn't too bad.

Tirau isn't such a bad meeting spot either, at least there's a petrol station.
There are two songs, "Stairway to Heaven" and "Highway to Hell" which I think give an indication of expected traffic flow

We ended up meeting at Karapiro (Mobil), and heading out to the Arapuni swing bridge, via the Karapiro and Arapuni dams (I think that means we took Maungatautari Rd). Nice and twisty. There's a little cafe just up the road from the bridge. Back via Horahora Rd (the Old Taupo Rd) which was a little more open and straight so great for a bit of a blat.

I'll check out the other suggestions when the bike comes out of winter hibernation.

Suggest you spend some of your winter hibernation reading awa355's "Waikato Rides". As well as having a search through his other postings...
