Hi all, anyone had any experience with the AXO textile jackets from Torpedo7 ?
Looking at buying a new bike after 18 years with no bike so I need to get all my gear first.

Cheap jackets are all much of a muchness and probably come out of the same factorys. Buy what fits well and puts the armour in the right places.
Remember cheap is cheap for a reason. My current jacket cost $1400 and I expect it to last 15 years. My cheap jackets at best last 2.
Spend good money on gloves and boots. And get a helmet that fits well.
All in all best to be able to try stuff on and be able to sit on a bike to make sure it works.
check how the jacket fits when actually sitting on a bike.preferably your own bike or at least one with a very similar size/riding posistion .
I'm guessing you are referring to those $199 textile jackets from Torpedo7, they are entry level stuff similar in quality to Rjays. If you add a back protector they probably offer OK impact protection for street use. Abrasion protection would be on the low end but still miles better than being a squid with a t-shirt and jeans.
They're around, if you want a relatively kerfuffle free ride in adverse weather and can afford it....then

Bought a Rjays jacket yesterday from Motorad while drooling over all the Triumph speed triples in Wellington for the weekend. Has a CE Armour on shoulders, elbows, arms, ANF in the back too. Pretty happy with it.

I've also got some silly expensive gear, but I'll never regret it.
It lasts years, and works like it should.
If you know your size, you can sometimes get silly expensive gear direct from Europe at good prices. Decent suppliers will take off the VAT, which usually pays the freight to get it here.
Stick to the main brands though, they will be consistent sizes.
