Third Monday of June is Ride to Work Day...

    Ride if you can...

Had to put North Island at beginning, but really wanted "Nationwide"...

Guys, as a retiree I really don't care if you ride to work or just go for a ride...

if it's fine then I'll be out for a ride and, like ellipsis, there'll be no work involved apart from stressing about whether it'll be ginger crunch or some other sticky to have with the mid-ride coffee.

Of course. For every two days I work, I get one off. Just long enough to clean my rifle and polish my ammo...

Bit of a non-event for me. Every work day is a ride to work day. I'd have to be mad to take a car or public transport on my commute.

I guess it's a bit of a non-event for quite few others as well who ride everyday or nearly everyday.

However, if it encourages someone to ride on the day and they like it and start to ride more often, all the better...

My bad. I didn't mean to say it's a bad idea. Quite the contrary.

I certainly didn't take your comment as a negative or critical comment. On the contrary, I would have agreed with you when I was still in the workforce - I never looked forward to having to take the car on the days I had to, you just can't filter in one or use bus lanes!

If anything, I see Ride to Work day as an acknowledgement of those who, like yourself, ride every day no matter what the weather. And an opportunity to raise awareness.
