R6 Stator Gasket Change - What to check

    Hey guys,

So I've got an oil leak with the stator cover - no problem there I've ordered a new gasket and can do the job fine. Just wondering though is there anything that I can look for when I've got all this off? Like signs of wear, etc?

I just thought that since I'll have the cover off it's a good time to have a little hunt for any potential issues.

    Cheers guys!

Check your parts fische for a seal behind the rotor on the crank. Most of the late Yamahas I've seen run the stator end dry with a seal on the crank.
If the R6 is like this and you have oil there, the seal may be damaged - or possibly just dried out from long storage.
    Could prove awkward....
