    Power problems who to contact?

We live down a privet road with 4 big blocks of land one with a derelict house so 3 houses in total, 11,000 volt lines run most of the way down our drive to a step down transformer then 240 volts to the houses,

Problem one block is like a small city with all sorts of assorted scum living in tin huts buses sheds and a chicken house, its majorly overloading the transformer and it has failed twice, the 11,000 fuses blew 3 times this month, brown outs all the time, the linesman was very helpfull and sed they need there own privet transformer and connection.

I have been ringing vector but they don't really give a shit and sed when the transformer fails they will replace it and when the fuses blows they fix it.

Is there anyone elce I can contact?

There is a complaints process which requires Head Office to investigate issues where supply fails to users. They can measure / data log usage of consumers to then resolve issues. Complaints obviously need to be in writing to get a response.
Can go to local council and see if "population and structures" encroach on any bylaws, resource or building consent requirements. Good luck.

Privet is a weed and should be possible to kill with plenty of RoundUp weed killer.
Second option is petrol and a match. Much more satisfying!

Contact your NEW power supplier ...

And those not living in Auckland ... don't care. And those that are ... probably won't either.

    Come to the Bay

We've had none of those problems with Unison - quite the reverse, they have always been very helpful and responsive down here in rural Hawkes Bay.

I respectfully suggest moving to the Bay.

PS Rather them than me out in this weather, fixing stuff for people who can't watch Coro or some such crisis. The line crews are heroes, as far as I'm concerned.

    No.
245T has been off the market for years, and anything with 245T in it.
Old original formula of Tordon had 245T though. Old Tordon was better than just 245T, but dearer. 245T with a good wetting agent worked well on gorse/broom etc. Had to be bloody careful around tree blocks etc (hormone spray)

always amuses me that so many people believe that roundup is the killer of all that is weeds, having said that, i had a real problem with stinging nettle in a vege garden once, got sick of it so sprayed the garden with 50d, didn't have to eat cabbage or cauli for a long time . wife at the time didn't think it was good havin to buy vegies tho

had a neighbor a few years ago couldn't work out why his eucalyptus lost all its leaves and appeared to be dying, managed to blame it on the south canty drought along with the gorse across the road that was dying. finally got rid of the last of the 245t in an environmentally manner tho
interestingly, the euc came back to life unlike the gorse

privet can be drilled and poisoned with metsulfuron. or chemically ring barked with meths/diesel and 2.4-D/ something else.

    monsanto is the devil.
    roundup is tradenameded glyphosate.
