Took the wife's car in for a warrant yesterday. Not warrantable...
At some point in the last year of ownership, some dickhead has put it on a hoist and failed to use the correct load points.
Result - crushed sills on both sides. Damage is about 500mm long and the sills have been distorted inward.
Taking it to a chassis straightening outfit today to see if they can pull it out. There's a big seam to grab onto.
The setup on this thing is that there is side trim which makes looking at the sills a down on your knees job so it's been hidden.
It's been to a painter for a touchup and a tyre place for rears in the last year. The painter is actually part of a dealership for this brand so I'd doubt it was them...
So beware of cowboy tyre outfits.
It's going to have to be an insurance claim - so there goes the excess. I'd doubt if the insurance co will be able to pin it on anyone as it will be denial all round.
