    Oh, and
How about one that hasn't got its hand out for free stuff from the govt or other sources.
Or a govt dept where you can waste as much as you want with no personal consequences.
Have a crack at a business, there's no restrictions on who can & cant.
Oh, and are you running for local government again this term?
And for fucks sake, do you think you could possibly create a post without using the emoticom?

I am sure all you Tory's all hark back to the 1860s before half of the peasants got to vote, as the good old days.

    Voting rights before 1832
In early-19th-century Britain very few people had the right to vote. A survey conducted in 1780 revealed that the electorate in England and Wales consisted of just 214,000 people - less than 3% of the total population of approximately 8 million. In Scotland the electorate was even smaller: in 1831 a mere 4,500 men, out of a population of more than 2.6 million people, were entitled to vote in parliamentary elections. Large industrial cities like Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester did not have a single MP between them, whereas 'rotten boroughs' such as Dunwich in Suffolk (which had a population of 32 in 1831) were still sending two MPs to Westminster. The British electoral system was unrepresentative and outdate

    Ah, the good old days.

I'd have them back in a flash, no vote sounds like a small price to pay for not having to pay even the minuscule taxes of the day.

Or the wages of the peasants that have to slave away down at the pit or in the feilds to pay your rents. or if they are really lucky get to clean your privy for the privilage of having a roof over their heads, because they were not born to the aristocracy.
not to mention the privilage of dying in your mid thirties.
If they are hungry they should just eat cake.

How about one that hasn't got its hand out for free stuff from the govt or other sources. - Ooooo, almost a tough one. Those who get the free money spend it all in the economy, renters get a regular rental source, and the wheel turns as people shift money around the economy buying things and paying their debts. As the great Ocean used to like to point out, there are 42% (Brownlee from a few years ago) of the population who are a tax drain on the government. Lots of people working (but only 6% inemployment), but, erm............. If they don't get money from somewhere, they won't be able to spend "new" money into the economy.

Or a govt dept where you can waste as much as you want with no personal consequences. - That all depends on who one is is the hierarchy innit. Still though, the vast majority of those actually doing the work are pretty much good bastids. They're usually the ones who take the heat, coz they're a dime a dozen... the higher ups however.......

Have a crack at a business, there's no restrictions on who can & cant. - But that creates debt given that the majority of small business startups fail. Hardly a harmless thing to do, and in times where the kids are screamin' at us for pulling shit out of the ground etc..., somewhat fair enough like, exacerbating that with a resource free for all isn't exactly a wise thing to be doing on a finite planet... but hey, each to their own.

Oh, and are you running for local government again this term? - Nah. Moving, and the folks don't take kindly to out of towners standing from outside of their electorate. It just ain't worth that sort of bullshit. But most definitely a yes for the national elections.

And for fucks sake, do you think you could possibly create a post without using the emoticom? - Only when you start posting like a human being (oh I do miss that one).

Except that then acts as a disincentive for other people to actually work hard and produce shit, which without, the entire Economy falls to shit.

Then you have to have massive Government Tyranny to try and force people to work - just like the Paradises of Soviet Russia, North Korea, Cambodia etc.

Not at all, I've got multiple friends in multiple public sector areas (Legal, Healthcare, Teaching etc.) all with eerily similar stories:

Multi-Million dollar projects scrapped when nearing completion, complete 180s on direction every 3 or so years, unhealthy skepticism of change.

The problem is that when doing things differently can get you fired, and following the process guarantees you a job for life, again the individual has a disincentive to try and make things better. Add in a Toxic middle-management (where people are constantly engaging in office politics to prevent good people from being promoted and 'taking their job') and completely disconnected senior Management you end up either:

A: Loosing the people who are passionate about the area to the Private sector
B: Jading them into no longer being passionate.

Sounds like you are acknowledging Risk, which would mean you also acknowledge that the business owner should reap the reward for that Risk, if only you hadn't massively contradicted yourself....

Therein lies the justification for Mass Murder, Torture and Genocide, by every Marxist inspired Dictator.

Ah - the myth of the disincentive ...

Show me one, just one, economy, that has failed because of its social welfare system ... or are you including corporate welfare in that statement?

Okay - State your definition for Failed - Total Anarchy, Recession, Economy Collapse, rampant inflation?

Are you going to include Economies where the high Social Welfare cost was a factor in the Failure (but other factors were also present)?

There's a few off the top of my head that spring to mind.

Quite happy to judge the idiot on her achievements actually, which tallies up to 0.
The service (and apparently the deluded public) will easily judge her on her appearance (public = easily deluded by lying cow with a smile)...

The good laugh in her lack of control over NZ Fist First and another shambles with "Money For VOTES!" Shane Jones' electorate bribery.

Only you very clearly were not though.
Hence your post having nothing to do with anything at all she or her government has done.
You take cheap shots on account that you clearly dont have the political currency.

Apparently, whenever she travels via Air Force 767 (remember, she does a LOT of overseas travel) the aircraft gets the designation "Air Horse One".
