In point of fact, I'm doing better under this govt than under the last. Supplementary power subsidy over winter, local fuel supplier giving a 15c/l discount for gold card holders.
I've lived through more nat governments than most of you. Shook Mrs Holyoake's hand, met Kirk and Lange. Worked alongside ex MP's. They all mean well but IMO the nats are hamstrung by their beliefs. The left is where change comes from - and shit yes, we need change.

The major problem now is inequity of wealth. the poor get poorer, the rich get richer. Is this a good thing ?

One thing we're working on at a local level which may yet make policy is a govt overseer for local govt affairs. When your local council lose in court but won't perform the required work or settlement, it's not currently possible to get enforcement except by going back to court. Where the council's deeper pockets let them take it further. You may win - but you'll be broke. Looking at a tribunal system to level the playing field.
Change again - which I'd doubt would come from national...

is that really a subsidy/discount for gold card holders, or a tax for non gold card holders?

the answer to that would depend on wether you were rich or poor I guess

But whatever, why on earth would anyone expect equality of wealth? Is there equality of productivity?

Seriously, I could, with as much justification demand equality of rugby results. Should I get compensation because I didn't appear on the cover of last month's BIKE magazine? Should I be allowed access to subsidies for plastic surgery to make me equally attractive? Equality of wealth is a ridiculous concept.

I was yarning with a chum this morning that's worth around 30 million, I'd be all about combining his wealth with mine & then splitting it two ways between us.

Well certainly the first 2 are nowhere near an "excuse to not return keep prohibited guns or not change the law". I read them more as "why not try enforcing the laws you've already got before you add a bunch more you won't bother to enforce?"
