    Guy Martin retires?

MCN have announced that Guy Martin has retired. Others are not so sure. He had a high speed crash on the Island this year due to a technical failure of his Honda. There is an interview made following that on the Net that showed he was seriously shaken up. Arriving at a 140mph corner "with a box full of neutrals" could do that.

His actual statement is here: https://guymartinracing.co.uk/a-word-from-guy/

Feel free to take your own meaning, others have.

Hopefully he will press on with the other stuff. I have great hopes for his LSR Triumph drive, and I watched a thing of him in Jyna last night that I enjoyed. Singlespeed FTW1

Also, does he sell "Nigel Racing Corporation" Tshirts because I want one!

Soup has this story where it really is the Honda he has walked away from and nothing else at the moment - don't blame him after what happened to McGuiness and himself.

motorcycling here benefitted with burt munro and john britten being put in front of everyday new zealanders, what harm does having a character like mr martin out there spread wide do?

McPint crashed due to an auto blipper blipping when it shouldn't, and Martin had a surprise box of neutrals. Some surprise.

Then there was Casey's stuck throttle last year too, not a good result for the CBR lately.

They all try that. Even John Britten pulled that out of a hat at Daytona. Kawasaki would have had trouble convincing anyone in this instance. My brother didn't like this photo 'cause he owned a Kawasaki.

Look down past the flame at Sykes left shin...

After McGuinness and Martin I expect HRC have mounted a round the clock Apollo level effort to unfuck it. They'll be fine.

In fact I read a statement from Neil Tuxworth who said "Uh, yup, all fixed"

None whatever. He is personable, and relatable. People's Mums know him as that nice young man from the telly. He is the only british motorcycle racer that civilians can name since Barry Sheene, maybe Fogarty. Nothing but good
