I need to contact "Wobbly" about a 2-stroke exhaust system repair

    Hello Guys,

I ride an R6 (2001, 143,000 km from new) but I also fly a 2-stroke engine-powered hang glider. Last Sunday, metal fatigue caused the muffler of my exhaust to fall off mid-air and destroy my pusher propeller, forcing an emergency landing. The video link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdseriW150Q

The pipe broke off just after the expansion chamber. I need to get the curved and straight piping after the chamber, and a stinger, as well as the safety springs and brackets. A mate of mine is a TIG welder and is offering me a good rate. But I need to get the parts for him to weld.

I asked around and some said to contact "Wobbly" and this forum is where I should start. Can anyone put me in touch with him?

I want to offer my congratulations too. Seemed like a very controlled landing from what must have been a pretty nerve racking experience. Well done

Sorry to waste people's time, but I got a price from the Swedish manufacturer, and it is cheaper than having repairs done (to an already half-busted) exhaust system here in NZ. Also, one-off projects can be real time-wasters, so I have decided to spend the money and buy a completely new (and improved) exhaust system. Should take a couple of weeks to arrive in NZ.

How can I get started hang gliding? I think it looks like massive fun. But I also don't like the idea of buying a used one on trademe, no idea what quality it is and jumping off a cliff.

You will need training for hang gliding. There are instructors in the Auckland, Wellington, Nelson and Queenstown areas. I suggest you take a tandem flight with a qualified tandem pilot and see if you like the sensation. I know people in Auckland who can point you in the right direction. You can contact me though my YouTube channel.
Quite a few hang glider pilots are also keen motorcyclists. The two sports seem to harmonize.

Anyway, I took the R6 out for a blat this afternoon it felt wonderful to be back in the saddle again.
