I doubt if Simon Bridges would know what a "wee missive" is... They need Judith Collins who could just give them 'that look'!

Perhaps a bit of civil disobedience over parking is required? There's bound to be somewhere that bikes could be parked that would disrupt the traffic flow in the city?

As for voting for him, suspect he's a council officer and has an iron clad employment contract. There seems to be a number of these type of people in council positions.
Aye Judith is a valid threat.

A friend was once responsible for the care and feeding of trolleybus poles. The rigmarole surrounding the replacement of rotten ones was literally unbelievable, the cost was simply huge, completely out of all proportion with the reasonably straightforward task. They installed a temporary pole while one rotten one was removed, decided the new one was going to be impeded by an adjacent power pole, argued with the owners of the power pole for 3 months about who was paying for that to be moved, installed a temporary pole while the old one was removed, then a second temporary one when the power pole was moved, then put the new pole in the same hole the old one had come out of. Unbelievable. And the number of entities involved in the job was also an eye opener, they waited three weeks because one official associated with subsequent remedial work was on holiday. And that nonsense is perfectly normal.

The civil disobedience thing has been done, on a small scale, but even on a big scale they simply don't give a fuck, they just aren't accountable for their decisions.

I am sure there were problems with the former WCCT (Wellington City Corporation Transport) as to just how efficient it was. But I doubt if the present scenario, of so many clicking the ticket as it passes, is actually better. We have not improved the management of infrastructure; only provided contractual positions, which please HR people, for those who as you say would appear to struggle to hold down a street sweeping job.

And to publicly state that you "ignore" a sector of the transport/commuter population is, surely, pure arrogance. Accountability seems to synonymous to the above mentioned "clicking of the ticket".

I see Fatt Max has expressed his view ''One such motorcyclist, Mark Hill, believed motorbikes were a "practical and viable alternative to a car in all weathers" and should be championed by the council.''

Look guys, this dude is unelected, and obviously has a bias against us.

Let him know in a polite manner what you think of his unwillingness to engage with the users of a very popular form of transport.

I was thinking about this today while riding to work. Here in chch seems to have the same unwritten mentality. Rather than supporting motorcyclists as a means of cutting down congestion amongst other things, it's seems to be all about cyclists and anti car. But done in a way which is working for no one.

Just laughing at Te Harold and it appears as if Wellington parking is increasing. No NOT the availability of spaces but the price.

Since there is a shortage of spaces and too much demand for them, the council sees this a perfect time to bend you over and arse-rape you and your wallet.

Nothing like leveraging off an earthquake that closed two large parking buildings with one of them already demolished to motivate a Council to extort more money.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I believe this is the new motto of the council... "We're not happy until you're not happy".

I don't feel ignored, the bastards gave me a $40 ticket for parking in a car park on a Sunday for five minutes (free parking on a Sunday) clearly they were paying attention .

    Wake up!

Ever since the advent of "Safer Journeys" policy, all NZ authorities have had a hidden agenda to eliminate motorcycling by making it inconvenient and expensive.
    Why?
Because they can not reach their zero road fatalities target while bikes are still being ridden by NZers.

It was even reported by a Safer Journeys insider, in these forums ,that at some of their meetings they had a banner showing a ban motorcycles graphic (a la ghostbusters) on the wall.

It's not dead. It's just pining for the fjords.
