From memory it's always been refueling in the designated area. Wouldn't have been a problem to designate a refuelling box in pit lane with a guy holding an extinguisher in attendance. Would have had to keep you and your fags at a distance though, Spyda...

yeah. always careful about that, the refuelling rule i think drew is reffering to is in the endurance race area, again, the red flag rule tells you you are allowed to do repairs, but nothing re gas.

Like i said drew it looked bad twice for a winner of the premier class to be a no show even the team truck seemed to take the tradesman entrance to exit so now to draw attention. I spoze he leaves his talking on the track?

I don't know the circumstances, I'm just speculating. But I do know that he tends to organise things pretty tight, and he's always busier than a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

Last year I had the Suzuki truck packed up and got the fuck out of there as soon as I could too though. As a hanger on, the fuck did prize giving mean to me?

As you said yourself at prizegiving “I work for the man.......” I’m sure you can defend him better by asking him why twice he appeared to have bailed out. We all had somewhere to get too but sticking around and recieving an award or congratulating your peers is the respectful thing to do.

you have had a sidecar for several years and have skin in the game, surely supporting at least your fellow sidecar racers would have mean't something to them though?

I don't mean to try and defend him. Just see it different and don't think it's disrespectful.

Yip, that's fair enough I guess.

Was a different story at levels, but the noise and crowd usually set my anxiety off something fierce. Had to leave Wanganui early the last two years before I lost it altogether.

That place was fucking disrespectful to the riders.

that has always been an issue, not only is it a series prizegiving where they give prizes out to tenth usually, there are a number of one off trophies too.
    other issues are
*as a one day meet people often haven't got to talk to other riders etc at all whereas if it's a weekend event they've usually done this

*it's not straight after the meeting, there's quite a few done quite a bit of drinking before they get there

*there's a lot of fans there, individual class fans who think it's ok to talk but expect silence when their class is up....

*been sorted now but they used to all up one rider at a time like it's the oscars, they would walk up and shake peoples hands etc taking time dragging the whole thing out...

just how can it be made better, it's bugged me for years?????

that's gold when you guys were (respectfully) having the best time and we happy being the centre of attention. personally I think its farkin great how the team haven't taken the whole thing seriously and have a chuckle with the whole package caps, shirts and bike, good on you all for having fun and still getting results...... at least you were there, both prizegivings.
