    Oxford heated grips strange issue!

So it has happened to me three times in the last frotnight that my heated grips , once I have turned them on(40%) will bump themselves up to 100%. The controller is mounted to the side of the bike on the frame where I cannot monitor it, so the first I know about it is being barely able to squeeze the grips as they heat up. Sound familiar to anyone or any clues? TIA, Al

Eh? Do you not wear gloves? We are in the winterless north. Allegedly.

The missus has heated grips on her bike but only used them a few times, without issue. Soz, can't give you anything constructive.

Controller is toasted. Its shorting internally. Ive had 2 old ones do it. I think you can order just the controller units.

Thankfully it does not do it when the bike is stationary. Also does not do it until it has been pressed on to start with? But thanks, Rob, guess I'll leave it till after summer now!

I wear thin summer type gloves year round. What I like about the grips other than the heat is the increased size, better for big mitts like mine!

When they get really bad they come on by themselves. Just disconnect them from the battery.

This - happened to mine also. Controller replaced with an upgraded one - no issues since

Thanks guys. The bike is a 2014 and came with it fitted, would have thought it was pretty late model...
But if it's gone, it's gone...

Oxford is a British brand. They were always shit at electrics. And oil leaks. And teeth.

And you're sure your not just knocking the controller with your knees / bar movement?

I'm saying don't discount the simplest source of problems.

Ask a woman why there is a knob on the end of your pecker, it's for her pleasure.

Ask a lothario, it is for his pleasure.

Ask an engineer, it's so your hand doesn't slip off the end when wanking.

Haha, no it's not that, not my knob either!
