Look at the statements again - one leads to the other.

No one or country is ever able to leave another completely alone.

Comparing Guantanamo to the various institutions I'm referring to is like comparing Saturday morning's under 6 Rippa Rugby match with The All Blacks vs Australia in the Webb Ellis final.

I don't remember any reports of inmates being vivisected at Guantanamo or being parrilla'd or having bits hacked off with Machetes.

Let's not forget that Donald Trump (along with two thirds of the American public) supports the use of torture.

Guantanamo isn't okay - I'm not down with Waterboarding, I'm not down with being held indefinitely without trial.

But as above - compared to other institutions - Guantanamo is Torture light or Diet Torture - and if I had to choose one, it's by far the most humane and preferable.

Well this bit "Guantanamo is Torture light or Diet Torture - and if I had to choose one, it's by far the most humane and preferable", is like you trying to say I was ok with genocide. Eh.

There's a key qualifier that you've left off of that statement.

    That's a tad dishonest.

Afterall, you've presented it that they support the use of Torture against Anyone - but that's not true, is it?

And whilst I can sympathize with the resentment that has caused people to think this way, There's a quote which I can't remember who said it - but the context was WW2, I believe from an English officer, after seeing someone strike a prisoner:

"Once you touch a Man, you cannot trust anything that he says"

Except it isn't - The choice I gave you was Armed Conflict vs Genocide - you indicated you liked Armed Conflict less - therefore Genocide was a more preferable option

In this case I'm comparing Guantanamo with other institutions known to have engaged in Torture and saying of those options - Guantanamo is the lease bad.

The choice I gave you was Binary - one or the other
The choice I identified above was on a continuum - same thing, different degrees of severity.

A bike vs a Car (one or the other - Binary choice)
A 125 cc bike compared with all the range of engine choices within the category of bikes (a Continuum)
