    Question First bike.

Hi there I am going to be looking at purchasing my first bike very soon and the Kawasaki zxr400s have caught my attention but I can't seem to find very much information on these bikes. Anybody own any of these bikes before? And if so would they be a good first bike? Or would I be better off going for a cb400, xjr400 or something like that?
    Thanks in advance.

Old and thrashed to death and maintained by troglodytes with vice grips and crescent wrenches. Or turned into race bikes years ago that are no longer loved as F3 has turned into something else. Plus: Old. Old & sportsbike go together like Trump and being nice to women. It may be all smiles in the media but its pussy has been grabbed at some point.

Ok so I am wasting my time looking for a zrx400 basically? I will have a look at the sv650s and cb400s, not looking to spend more than 5k on my first bike.

Says it would suit a large rider (only 5'8) and would prefer to purchase a jap bike

A few marks on the paintwork. But 30,000 km's ... would be a good first bike. You'd probably end up putting a few marks on it yourself.

It would leave you change to get decent riding gear ...

Bike says it's sold in the description and is in Christchurch (based in Auckland) but looks a nice bike.

Was a toss up between one of them CF Motos and a Honda for my girls second bike, after the two years on a 250. Wish we'd gone for the CF looking back

I stand to be corrected... is the CFMoto based on a previous Kawasaki?

Why is that? Have you had problems with the Honda? Would a sv650 be a much all round bike compared to a cb400 zrx400 etc etc

FWIW, I bought an SV650 (LAMS) as my first bike, and I'm loving it. I'm not quite 5'7", sat on it and felt at home. I have no prior experience with bikes to compare it to, so I'm useless on that front. However, I think you will be hard pressed to find one in your budget, as the LAMS versions have not been around for that many years as far as I know. The Gladius version may be LAMS approved (I can't remember and can't be bothered checking the list again).
