ID:	332839 So i recently purchased this mt125 Elsinore it hasn't been running for a long time, so far the list of things is, gearbox oil, spark plug and cap, and then start it, it also has a missing magneto cover i am debating weather to keep it or not but would like to know weather to test start it with autolube or using a mix in the tank (if so what ratio) and what gearbox oil i should put in it?
    cheers

...or just check pump and lines and clean it up so it works...too quick a want of hearing it run may just end up in making more work in the long run...a cool wee bike, probably worth the time and effort to check it out completely...

Running a mix will make it run lean, the carb is jetted to run staight fuel only. ( The more oil you mix in the fuel, the leaner it gets, which is bad for engine)
Take your time cleaning the oil pump and lines and bleed it. Once thats all done you could run a mix at 50-1 briefly untill you know the oil is pumping, then back onto staight fuel. The old 2t's started best on 91octane, it has a lower flash point and will start with a weaker spark.
    Great old bikes, enjoy.

    It gets complicated.
You can change the jets in the carb to run a mix, but that's only part of the problem
If there are oil lines on each side of the barrel, that would indicate oil is injected directly to the mains bearings and may not allow sufficient mixture to feed the bearings from a mix. Most likely no catchment area for a mixture to properly feed the bearings, which is different from a MX motor designed from factory to run a mix.(and has a catchment area)
You could sell it to someone who would restore it correctly.
Good luck on what you decide.

Gearbox oil is SAE 10W-30, service classifcation SE or better. Oil amount is 0.85 liter until oil begins to run out of the level hole.
