    Second bike?

I’ve been riding for nearly 6 months now and been on a Yamaha Scorpio 225 since day 1. I ride to work every day and I’m looking into getting a new bike for computing to work. I won’t be in NZ long enough to get my full license so not looking for a long term bike for long trips (I’ll be doing none of those).

What would you say if I asked your opinion on a CBR300? I’ve seen a few for less than 5k with low kms on. I know these kind of bikes are meant to be terribly uncomfortable for long trips but I’ll be doing nothing more than a 15 minute commute in the morning and evening...

Why do I want a new bike? Because I’ve came into cash and will be able to make a lot of the money back when I sell in 6 months to leave NZ.

    Thanks for any opinions.

Unless you're welling to loose More than 30% on your new bike. It will be hard to resell it. Lot's prefer to buy new for couple extra.

You think I’d really loose $1500 on it in 6 months? They’ve got <20,000km and 2 year old.

I’m not sure, just asking advice

For a 15 minute commute I dont think you will find a better bike than a Scorp.

While nice, a new 300 is not going to be anything much better, and you will lose about half the purchase price when you come to sell.

Save your money, stick with what you have.

    Just my NZD$0.02

I think op is asking about a new to him cbr 300.
    Low km's under $5k.

You lose a lot on a Brand new bike.
Not so much on a used bike if you buy it for a good price....

Yeah I meant a new to me, not brand new. I’ve seen a few 2-4 year old with low kms on.

Wondering how much the rising style and handling of the vibe would be compared to my Scorpio?

Yup, I'm the same. Whether on the CB1300, Spyder, or even the ex's GN250, I just adapt riding to the machine, and enjoy what it has to offer.

If you can find a CB500 it's worth spending the extra dosh. Lots more thump than the 300.
