    Bridgestone tyres in Auckland?

I've been without a bike for a few years and finally got a new one a couple of months ago but now it needs some new tyres.

Back in the day Cycletreads was the place to go for a good deal and always had what i was after, I gave them a call the other day looking for a Bridgestone S21 and the guy told me they don't have any and made it sound like it's been some time since they sold one.

According to the Bridgestone website the S21 is their current sport model, so either Bridgestone has fallen out of favor or Cycletreads isn't the place I remember.

This isn't a dig at Cycletreads, I'm just a few years out of touch.

I think I'm going to head down to Boyds in Hamilton but thought I'd let the community enlighten me first

Bridgestone S21 is one helluva tyre.

Boyds have 'em at a good price.

You should be able to get them at any of the below stores in Auckland - they are all Bridgestone Stockists

    Cyclespot
    Botany Honda
    Moto One
    Cycletreads (they should have them)
    MOTOHAUS AG LTD
    RED BARON MOTORCYCLES

Last time I used Boyds motorcycles in Hamilton. They shipped them FOC too.

Incidentally I went for Bridgestone 023s rather than the latest T30 Sports touring model. Around 2/3 the price and still a very good tyre. It might be worth your while giving these some thought.

Yep, so far a much better price than I've been able to find in AK

I've got 023s at the moment but they've been a little sketchy, more than likely due to their pressure, BMW recommend 42psi!! they're currently at 40 which is still too high. So hopefully a softer compound and less pressure should keep my pants unsoiled

I don't think Cycletreads is what it used to be???

Hope you enjoy the S21's and would be interesting to hear your feedback from a heavier bike POV. I love them on the 1290 and find they last fairly well.

    +1 for Moto 1.
Very good prices there and I've been back a few times for stuff. Worth investigating.
