Why half the Akaroa locals today are in a bad mood

We had some idiots using fireworks roughly every 40 mins till about 4:30am this morning, despite several visits from police and noise control. Needless to say lots of locals have some colourful ways of dealing with them.

    Their excuses

    1) It's Guy Fawkes (Despite it not being the 5th)
    2) I can do what I like
    3) It's Akaroa

Needless to say it is going to be a challenging day, if they do the same tonight my self control will be gone, thinking of hiding noise making devices in their house that beep at random intervals, so they can feel sleep deprivation against their will.

Rant over (Topic of thread suggests Rants are wanted)

Ring the cops and say you hear gunshots. If everyone did this the law would change real fast.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

...or take the gun around and make some bangs...that would also have some kind of effect...

Oh I dunno. Heard some bangs this arvo while in the shed that may have been fireworks or may have been a mass shooter. How is someone with little or no experience with guns supposed to know? Obviously I didn't call the cops as the chances of it being a mas shooter is next to nothing, but I am sure if some anti fireworks fwits started calling the cops every time they heard explosive sounds the cops would get sick of responding very fast. And they have to respond.

while i completely agree that we should all waste as much police time as possible (it's a public service, because while they're dealing with you they're not issuing traffic infringements to others) i disagree with your crying wolf about firearms.

Didn't say i would do it, or agree with it. Was just musing about what would happen if the anti fireworks folk (probably a high proportion of cyclists) started doing it.

Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....
