Makes the new BMW F850GS at 95HP and 229 kilos look a little porky.

More than a little. Shame they didnt keep on with the X Challenge platform and built on it.

Thumbs up Questions, so many questions

Bike looks awesome but the big question I am waiting for an answer to is the weight ( & tank capacity ).

I hope its not just another overweight mid sized gravel tourer, light is might in this class
KTM already has enough open class heavyweight adventure bikes in the 1090 - 1290 range with all the bells and whistles.

The specs for the motard version look encouraging at 169kg dry so hopefully this will transfer to the adventure model at something around 179kg.

Probably going to be a year too late for me, as a new Husky 701 is on the cards for next year, but then that will give them time to sort out the new model gremlins.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

    That’s why I am keeping my X-challenge , I just traded in a 13 F800GS for a KTM 1190R.
The 800 was a good alround bike , but the 229kg wet of the new model is about the same weight of a 1190R

my guess is it will be a good deal sub 200kg wet with maybe an 18ltr tank. 100hp+ and a strong subframe there wont be anything on the market currently that will come near it. There are loads of 200kg+ options including the 1090 (and the awesome XC800 ) don't make no sense to compete with that market.

Yamaha T7 will be interesting if they keep it light...but its said to be only 75hp so weight and gearing will be everything. Oh and could the 790 be the first KTM ever to come standard with a comfy seat
    ....wherezz that track go
