    Offroad training

I'm looking at getting some offroad coaching, I'm rather green and would like to get to a level where it becomes quite fun.

I've noticed online there is one company broxy that looks quite interesting, anyone used them for coaching?

Training is a good idea. I learnt on a fucked old xr250 with a sticking throttle... I learnt fast!
High miles, engine knock, rusty chrome, worn pegs...
    Brakes as new

Broxy is pretty good, based around Tauranga, iirc. He was way up there in the NZ mx champs several times, now doing more enduro stuff and not too shabby at that either. A nice chap too.

Also Chris Birch, Mike Cotter, and some others. Most of them travel a bit, but the South Island may be a bit far. Any Mainlanders got any leads?

Might be worth giving the Marlborough Trials centre in Blenheim a tinkle. A lot of the Hard Enduro techniques are based on trials, hence the most excellent cross training vids.

Denis Columb is still in Queenstown and may be up for some training.

Try "adventure trail rides nz" Christchurch based. I think they do training. They are on facebook. Grenville runs it and he runs the suzuki trail rides that a lot of us do. Good luck.

The slow speed basics are paramount! All the top hard / extreme enduro guys, Jarvis, Walker, that Polish dude, Gomez etc are ex trials champions. Probably the slowest but most mind bending motorcycle sport and the best teacher of bike control.

    Have fun!

About two years ago I did a 3 day boot camp with Broxy about an hour south of Tauranga.

    Few things,
    He's a hell of a nice guy,
He'll work on whatever you want
    He's very patient
    He's very good himself
All good things, I'm 44 and cant be a$$ed with someone pushing me into something I dont want to do, I wanted help with X, Y and Z so I could ride safer, with the hope of more speed and be able to make it to work on Monday.

There was 4 booked in (I didn't know the others) two of which didn't turn up.
Me and the other guy (close in ability) had his full attention!
