There's your problem..... its spitting rain and the track is damp. They should have done what any sensible person would do and park it and have a cup of tea!
[edit]..............and I am not sure that helps your cause. Rossi is on a wider line and has started his turn. Marquez is coming up the inside (with a major speed differential as can be seen from the telly). The onus is on Marquez to overtake safely. He didnt. He got into it too hot and pushed Rossi wide. At best reckless, at worst deliberate. My view hasnt changed one bit. He tried to fuck him deliberately - and pointlessly.

Being a Yamaha fan I have always followed Rossi, at times he has been a little agressive himself, and he's been a big boost to the sport, but perhaps things are getting a little personal in the game now, just hope it all dos'nt cause a loss of life along the way, that i don't want to see happen.

I don't believe that for a minute sorry. And being a lawyer, you'll know the correct meaning of deliberate. THIS is deliberate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2Di...ature=youtu.be
lets agree to disagree, and talk about Kenny Roberts v Freddie Spencer for a bit. Verrrrry similar situations actually: the young thruster vs the old hand, the fakeouts, the psychology, the bike differences - and of course the tyre differences.
In Freddie's book he says that Kenny tried to fake him out. He sat up at the end of the straight as if he was going to brake but he didnt brake..... so Freddie didnt either. They were both adopting the "see god then brake" mentality made famous by my boy Kevin Schwantz. Freddie held it together, Kenny went off - then bitched about it for 30 years. The big difference is it was the last race of the season and last corner of the last lap.... and they were racing for the world championship. Thats the big difference here. Here it didnt matter. Not really.
Allegedly they have made up now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_S...cle_Grand_Prix

No. It's best if we keep going until you admit you're a knob! But yeah, I doubt Kenny was the sort of guy to forgive and forget too quickly. I'm just hoping this season doesn't get out of hand safety wise for MM, not the racing. A lot of Italians are gonna bed in a total state of rage!
Actually Pete from your screen shots and this clip of the event Rossi had the racing line and Marquez didn't, if it was MX sure VR had a door open so big you could've put a truck through it..slam it in, point & squirt and there was enough room for a few bikes to tuck under him; but there in that instance MM was in to hot for the line
Yeah exactly, even the clip you put up of the prior incident proves that. VR is no angel by any means and realistically none of them are for dubious tactics but personally I think VR's reaction & comments of it are OTT and MM tried being the bigger man by attempting to place an apology. Another couple of feet on the outside of the corner and VR wouldn't have tucked the front under on the grass and the following few laps would've been fun![]()
I think he lost the front a bit about a metre out and that pushed him out wider... but this is the guy that got tapped at Assen and stood it up rocketed across the gravel trap and won... got tapped by Zarco at Austin stood it up rocketed across the infield and gained about ten bike lengths... here he just lamely flops over when he could have stood it up and trundled back on track... my darkest suspicions are that it's like the soccer player diving and writhing around trying to milk a penalty... but then that's my feeling about the "integrity" of Rossi and his butt buddies.
Edited to add... mind you Marquez was really fucking rude punting him off like a bitch and Rossi really doesn't like being dissed. 2015 really kicked off after Lorenzo started saying he was a slow tinarse who was only leading the championship because the weather kept crapping out on Sundays.
No Merv! Even though that gap is around ten times larger than the gap left by Gibernau on the last corner of the last lap at his home GP...that Rossi took, that caused Gibernau to run off track. It's NOT ok for MM to go for it!!!
But yeah. Any racer I've raced with would've if it was me that'd given them that invitation, and I'd think it odd if they didn't.
So I guess you'll be using this as an example of good sportsmanship for your 11 year olds Steve?
