Am only arm chair fan . To me fair to say it was a racing error.

lets agree to disagree, and talk about Kenny Roberts v Freddie Spencer for a bit. Verrrrry similar situations actually: the young thruster vs the old hand, the fakeouts, the psychology, the bike differences - and of course the tyre differences.

In Freddie's book he says that Kenny tried to fake him out. He sat up at the end of the straight as if he was going to brake but he didnt brake..... so Freddie didnt either. They were both adopting the "see god then brake" mentality made famous by my boy Kevin Schwantz. Freddie held it together, Kenny went off - then bitched about it for 30 years. The big difference is it was the last race of the season and last corner of the last lap.... and they were racing for the world championship. Thats the big difference here. Here it didnt matter. Not really.

Kenny roberts said he was young hungry young racer . He should realised it chould happened . I surpose he meant he might used diffrent tatic.
Speaking of which . Is because the bikes and tires are so extreme. Read few books past champion racers . But seems not much . Out thinking gets done on last lap . Dovi seems to out smart mm .! 3 times know . Moto 3 and 2 u see it. Mind u racers in 60,s where able hold bit in reserve . Not show there hand in certain parts the track.
I hope mm calms down if this is him being carefull . Help them all

If he had have finished on either ocassion one place higher, he would have been equal.
The only result that split Kenny and Freddie that year was Kenny had two fourths Freddie had only one and a third.
