    Wrong address for ticket.

What happens if the policeman issues me a ticket and he has sent to my old address not my new one ?

I think the onus is on you to keep your details correct. Although they're pretty good at tracking people down, it's one of their jobs. Of course they wont bother to do that until the fines and penalties make it worthwhile...

Damned difficult to prove someone doesn't live at your address.

    For fines......

The onus is on you to give the correct address. If you haven't updated your address and the ticket goes to your old address, so will any reminder and subsequent documents. That can end up costing you more.

Cops now scan your licence and the address you have online is auto populated. It's been the go since Smart devices, and more recently, iPhones.

Considering the current state of play you could get another ticket for failing to notify a change of address? Pay the fine and update the address. Slow down or consider a radar detector.

had a wee talk to a member of our local constabulary last thursday and he scanned my license and came up with an address that i haven't lived at for a number of years yet i know my address has been updated because i have updated my license and also received an infringement in the mail since living at my current address

Changed my address, informed them as required for holder of gun licence. They are supposed to come and check my gun safe/ security...was 10 years ago but they had no trouble when relicence time came about to find me couple years ago. Donut stained paperwork lapse, perhaps the new govt will employ more needed staff on and off the beat?

Good to hear sound advice especially for the haters. There are some prize cocks out there. Keyboard warriors that wouldn’t dare say it to your face. Spineless fucks. So update on the haters I was moving House the day of the accident which I admit was my fault and I said to the police man make sure you send it to the correct address and gave him again my details. Been a few months and still nothing so not wanting an even bigger fine thought I might ask here as free entertainment for the spineless ones.

The way it's meant to work is the officer scans your licence and up pops an address. The officer is then meant to check with you that the address is still current.

If you are busy giving the officer his/her pedigree, this step can be missed.

It's an oversight by the system but it sure doesn't mean that the issue will go away.
