    Brand new rider.

    Hey all.
    Just bought my first bike and I'm probably way too excited!
    1995 GSF250 which should do everything I need it to. Stable, all round good bike to learn on from what I understand.
    My ship is on the other side of the bloody earth at the moment and all I want to do is get on my bike and try to keep it rubber side down 😂
    I've read all the stickies so not looking for advice, just letting you know I'm new 👌🏻

    Agreed... if you do see a dog, don't run. Stand your ground...

    if you run, it's all over.

    Enjoy your new ride & watch out for dogs & cats & punctures !

    Welcome to KB, the guys are alluding to a particular other Kb person/IT! who's advice if followed could see you come off your nice new bike.
    So, never ever listen to IT's proffered ( and she proffers it regularly) advice, it could Kill you.
    Take your time, go out with trusted friends and fellow riders and always ride your own ride.
    If you are totally new to bikes then wherever you are IN NZ ,right now,a good first tip is, look at the road surface in front of you, if it's shiny black, don't ride on it,it's hot tar and there is no grip in it whatsover.
    Every day above ground is a good day!:

    what about cats named gareth?

    @OP - good shit.

    just remember that pain hurts. and you can put yourself in a world of pain quite easily.

    you're in auckland, so statistically 102% of them are fuckwits and/or trying to kill you (2% margin of error on that statistic)
