Thumbs up Tussuck Adventure Ride, Jan 6th

This is a fantastic ride and excellent value for just $60.00 for a full days riding in the Waiouru Military training ground. See link below.

Did an adventure ride in here about 5 years ago that was organized by a KB member who was a major in the army at the time ( thanks Buggs ) , we even stayed and ate on the base. It was an Epic ride.
The only other way to get into this area is on 1 of the tussock buster trail rides, but they are quite a bit more expensive and far more populated.

Just organized a cheap hotel room in Waiouru and sent my entry form in. Will be a great way to finish off the Holiday break.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

That sounds like a lot of fun.
Last time I was inside defence land in Waiouru we sat on a hill top and watched a couple of Skyhwks blast Cannon and bombs) the hill top a K or so away from us, they knew where we were and put on quite a show, beautiful country in there and the rivers are chocka block with bloody big fighting fish ( mostly rainbows) who can't beat a nickle spinner and a couple of collectors down stream.
Not to mention multitudes of big red deers.
    Fond memories.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

Are defence personnel allowed to shoot the deer?

I would say so, the old man was in the army for 20 years and a avid deer stalker, I spend many a roar with him, out the back of the zones hunting.
