there's at least three of these bikes racing in nz
Cool there is one on trademe! Does Eddy have four or five of them? Had a laugh at the first paragraph..."these are very rare sports bikes with only 546 being made".

Been waiting a while for the pre 89's to catch up to where they should have been. Holden on the Budget GSXR1100 was into the low 9's in period - and the 750's immediately went into the 8's at the first WSB round. Given tyre and shock development they're still not there yet.

I'm pretty sure Horst Saiger got a 1.07 out of my GSX1100 around there, Friday practice, Manfield Suzuki Series 2015.
He virtually tossed it back at me & said bluntly, "zat ees ass fast ass eet can go"

The track was resurfaced about when the gsxr's came out yes?
I'm assuming it is still very bumpy? I've not been there for several years now....

Memory says they'd gone quicker in unofficial practise earlier in the week in '88.
Qualifying may have been damp - race day certainly was as Tardozzi discovered at the splash....

I think everybody in the stands was looking - I can't think of a more public place to fuck up.

And then it turned into pure Italian farce with the team manager and machanics running across to him - and a lot of shouting and gestures...
