That's the secret of it all....you can't beat the radios
In a time many years back got involved in plenty of runners that some of which ended with roads blocked to catch us or being funneled into back streets and cornered with no chance of escape Only successful escapes were when there was a number of us and multiple options of where to run
Had one experience of doing close to what this event was and spied a cop on a side road way too late to back off and all he was doing was leaning against his car merrily watching me as I went by...watched the mirrors like a hawk for quite a few kms afterwards

Guy rode his motorbike passed a cop, doing 150 kph in an 80 zone. Cop pulled out and chased him. Soon the cop was close behind and the two continued on at 150 kph for kilometre after kilometre.

"F*#+" thought the biker, "If I open it up I could get away from him." But he decided to face the music, slowed down and pulled over.

The cop pulled in behind him, got out of his car, walked over to him and asked why he hadn't pulled over as soon as he saw the flashing lights behind him. "I thought you were going to try a 'runner'," said the cop. "What's your excuse?"

"Well," said the biker, "My wife ran off with a Policeman ten years ago to this day. I thought you were bringing her back!"

"On your bike, and ride slower," said the cop.
There are two songs, "Stairway to Heaven" and "Highway to Hell" which I think give an indication of expected traffic flow

That explains it, I bet you were trying to hit 300kph but the pushrods started rattling too much so you backed off?

Did it once as a teen pissed on a 650 Yammy, lights flashing behind me I gunned it, got ahead enough (cops had 5 ltr Holdens in those days too), went round a corner and straight up a driveway and into by chance an open garage and pulled the door closed behind. Looking through a knot hole could see a torch going up and down the street trying to find me. After a while when my heart stopped racing and the torch had gone, quietly rode home.
Looking back it was bloody stoopid thing to do, could have hurt someone else in that pursuit, never done anything like that since. Best to stop and face the music.

Anyhoo don't forget to add to calendar 19th May, 27th July, and 31 August.
World whisky day, International whisky day, and Scotch whisky day.

Would have thought ol Rudolf could've done better than a Suzuki savage...

A long time away in a country far away I did a poorly thought through runner.....
Bike was not fast enough and disco vehicle was right on my arse......
Only thing that saved me was that I was in a residential area that I knew like the back of my hand.....I went through some very narow allys and through a park.
Lost them , parked bike up in the back of a property with
    Unlocked gate... and walked home.
Saw cops cruising all over the place on my way home.
Picked up bike next day, and heard a few days later from a girl who worked at copshop's reception ,that the vehicle that chased me hit the sump (mounting a curb )and broke it's engine mount.......

    Bloody stupid ......
    And lucky...
