My Triumph was Stolen last night: Stolen Motorbike

Hi All, its been ages since I posted anything on the site. My moto tour of NZ which began as a visitor in 2008 evolved into an extended stay, a marriage to a Kiwi, and a permanent resident visa. A great story of my life.

Unfortunately I'm back again now with bad news. My maroon 1999 Triumph Trophy was stolen last night between 9 pm 16 Dec and 10 am 17 Dec. From Kumeu/Riverhead. The bike was a US import so the odometer records miles not kilometers---at had ~25,600 MILES on the odo. the plastic key ignition cover was torn off and left behind so I suspect it was hotwired and ridden away in spite of the steering lock. If anyone sees the bike in person or listed for sale, please notify me. current email is petemaguire8@gmail.com. I will try to attach photos. Cheers and thanks for any help! Pete

    Hi Pete,

Very sorry to hear about the bike but great to hear that you're still around and belated congratulations on both marriage and residency. We're still in Coromandel if you're ever passing by!

    Cheers,

    Geoff

    Stolen Triumph recovered!

Thanks NZ police for arresting the thief and recovering my Triumph! It was recovered in Orewa when the officer thought the bike looked suspicious (a Triumph with Honda logos plastered onto it) and pulled the thief over for broken tail light. Apparently its in pretty good shape still!
