My Sidecar wasn't going long enough

You've already got Drew and Nodrog in those pics

electric sidecars will be interesting, lots of space for batteries and no one will care if they spill amps and volts on the track.
More pics of Nodrog please there are hardly any on Facebook

I don't have pics but I have quite a few short clips of both classes of sidecars coming out of the Robert Holden and up the short straight to Toyota corner. Only off my phone, but if I have your race number and I have caught you I could txt them to you. 027 2467040

Don't think other people other than his Facebook "friends" can see the album. Privacy setting from his end.

was interesting when they were scrutineering it, i also made sure they'd looked at it and made a plan for if it crashed and marshalls were trying to pick it up, not so simple being 110 volts either

Yeah, brings a whole new set of problems. Should marshals throw a ground strap over it before touching it ? What extinguishers are appropriate ?
Should all battery bikes be fitted with insulated handles ?

if its anything like leccy cars there should not be an issue if not on fire. the main cables should be well insulated, as for fire then best bet is copious amounts of water, probably a lot more than what is available so if not out quickly then stand back and watch the fucker burn. if ya put dry powder on, it will fuck it anyway just not immediately and out in the open CO2 will most likely be ineffective. as i understand it the problem with burning batteries is the immense amount of heat they produce so re ignition is an issue.

That's not good to hear - I've seen a couple of car fires where the tarmac caught fire too. A street circuit with the usual NZ oil soaked surface could be fun.
