try chrome. opera or whatever you're using is obviously not helping

Yup. Couldn't make sense of some of the information as presented. Have worked in insurance so no worries about the logistics of submitting a claim or dealing with the insurance company. No concern with timeframes or ensuring I get what my policy covers and I have paid for.
I was more interested in experiences with damaged bikes, which is new for me. Haven't even had to go through this with a car, but have a better idea of costs for repairs on those.

Still waiting for a decision from insurance. Quote for repair was only sent to them yesterday (f knows what the shop were waiting for). My insistence on ensuring the frame is checked properly to prove it is straight may push it into write-off territory, rather than repair.

Then we have semantics about whether it was "new" or "second hand" (apparently a demo is not new) and thus the cover being for market value not agreed (and paid for) value. But should work out.

Still haven't tracked down the asshole who ran it over, either.

Sounds like the shop is dragging its feet and the insurance cunts are starting to try to squirm out of it. Be ready for some low ball bullshit from them.

    Great outcome, despite the loss.

    Good result.

Did you end up paying an excess, or is that being covered by the idiots who ran over the thing in the first place?
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Not surprising really. Suzuki sell bikes at a cheap price, so any repair work is proportionally high, resulting in write-offs.
A bit like Suzuki "swift" cars. Front bumper damage equates around 7k so automatic write-off.

I'm currently subject to the excess, pending a waiver.

I 'assume' they will be quite keen to follow up the perp as they can then pass the costs on to the next insurance company.
    Who knows.

    New bike time!
